High School Football Concepts

I got bored on Sunday, and did some concepts for some local highschool teams.

Palm Harbor
I went with a modern look, one that is very similar to my old Miami concept. The school is Palm Harbor University, that's why you see the Miami U logo. I used the actual logo on the helmet, other than the U. Kept the dropshadow on the numbers like the currents.

East Lake
Lots of Philadelphia Eagles logos. Just like the current set. They have a monochrome blue look, and that was pretty lame. I did white pants to have contrast, and added a sleeve design. I used a non block font with this look too.

Dundein
Dunedin uses some icky gold pants, nd they look preeeetty bad. I matched the helmet stripes on certain things, like the bottom of the sleeves. The numbers are, in fact, the Atlanta Falcons.

Tarpon Springs
I used a classic design for one of the oldest schools in the area. Since I hadn't used shoulder stripes yet, I thought it was the right time to work it. I used the spongers logo, and the Tennessee-T logo, like they use now.

Countryside
One of my designs needed some piping and really modern design. I used it on C-side. I couldn't find the Cougars script logo, but it had the Kansas State logo in it, so I used that. I tried a few modern looking designs, and thought the final thing looked pretty good.

OK State Pro Combat

Here is something I never posted! I saw a video of the OkSU locker rooms, and it was really sweet. They said everything was Nike, but they weren't a pro combat team. So why not make my own! The team had to be orange. With some random piping an shoulder things. The script and numbers are the same angle as the logo! It really was for me trying my new template, but whatever.
Anyone got requests?

2014 Sochi logo

Sorry guys, I've had a busy week. I haven't even opened inkscape this week. Ill do some things for you over the weekend. Here are things I never posted.

From the artist who brought you these... I now present my concept for the Sochi Winter Olympics. The bid logo used, I think is worlds better than the current. The current is just words, and the bid was just a logo. Both are seen here, and here.

When I first started all I did looked like the bid logo. I found the design inspiration thread in the lounge. Looked through that, and got a rough idea with a cube. I made the cube, looking good. Each face needed something. The Olympic logo was a given. I looked at the geography of Sochi, and the mountain ranges are close to the water, like the whole city is. The left side is mountains reflecting over water. The top face is the snowflake from the bid logo, which is epic.


The reason i never posted this was it got mixed reviews on the boards, and I never went back. So there, look at it!

NFL Concepts! NFC

I wanted to do all 32 teams in the NFL, but I kind of hit a wall. I stretched for ideas, but some I liked more than others. Here are the select few. I might do some AFC ones sometime.

Packers
I love their set, but made some changes. The cuff stripes on the neck and sleeve are gone! Woohoo! Then the rest is pretty much normal. But wait, what's that? I put a stencil font! Sneaky.


Lions
They have tremendous upside. The number font currently is lame, and difficult, so I put a standard block on it. I made piping around the sleeve, cutting off similar stripes to the helmet and such.


Redskins
A mess, really. Some skins fans want gold pants. So, I did it. I thought that I could work off an odd helmet stripe, and put it everywhere. Those stripes go over the shoulder, and down the pants.


Cowboys
Really Dallas? The fact you haven't done this yet is dumb. The current white jersey, and dark jersey do not match at all. Design, and colour wise. I based it off the whites with the stripes, and made it simple and classy.


Saints
Currently, they have too many designs. The helmet doesn't match the thick black stripe on the pants. I matched everything. Note, on the white, I did the same exact stripe as the home, though it looks different. Florida does the same thing.


So thats some NFC concepts. I have a few in mind for the AFC and might get to them sometime during the season. COMMENT

World Cup of American Football

Just never posted this, and came across it looking for some concept!

So I did these back during the WC2010. I thought it'd be fun if there was a high profile American Football World Cup. Basically, just the US styling on everyone. I just listed a bunch of teams that could maybe possibly fill a team. I got a few, and ended up doing just 7. I'd just like some input on this, and not let it go to waste as the last day of summer for me is here. Sorry the logos are kind of lame...

Florida Orange

So my good friend entered his name into a fantasy application for a basketball team. I crank logos out as you know, so its no biggie that I had this.

His team is the Florida Orange, just one, and he only had one idea for a logo. I went to his house(we know each other IRL) and I drew out what I thought he meant when he told me about his idea. I drew the kinda logo you see below. An orange with part cut out, then basketball stripes or whatever they're called. I typed out the team name, then slanted it. I thought it looked really cool, so did he. I beveled the name, then added a FO logo for fun.

The jerseys are based on two former NBA set ups. The first two are based on the Milwaukee Bucks' jerseys back in the day. The alt is my idea, a retro jersey based on the Atlanta Hawks' 70s get up.

Atlanta Braves

17/30 Atlanta Braves
So just some things, I LOVELOVELOVE the A tomahawk logo. That's the primary in this set. I thought it was a simple replacement for the script primary, it just seemed too wide. I also replaced the yellow with a peach-y colour, just to see how it looks. I thought it was pretty good so you we it here. The Atlanta and Braves script remained, and I added Georgia under the A logo as a sleeve patch. The jerseys are really the same for the home and alt. I think they have one of the best sets in the league. HOWEVA, the blue alt they use now sucks. Why don't they just make the jerseys like the shirts they sell? Well. I did.
