Super Bowl XLVI Voting

Finally it's here! So the voting has been explained before, but I'll go over it again. Everyone can vote for their top 3 favorite concepts in order. First place votes get 5 points, 2nd get 3, 3rd gets 1. After voting closes Wednesday night, then the scores will be tallied and assigned points. Those final points will be how much each person earns for that round, and will be the score that carries over to the other rounds. Any ties in this final round will be decided by me. Also, don't vote for yourself. That's self explanatory, but worth mentioning.

Without further adieu, here is the 6 entrees for Super Bowl XLVI. The point scale will not change for this round, so we don't punish these designers for not filling 10 concepts

Super Bowl Shuffle 50 - Bay Area

This is the sixth logo we're commissioned to do. The Broncos beat the favored Panthers, and Peyton Manning went out on top. As a designer, you will get to pick between Super Bowl XLIX and Super Bowl 50 to create a new logo for the game.

There's no major requirements for the logo. The logo must be a 800x600 image, and on a blank color background of your choice. No personal branding can be included, just to keep it anonymous when voting. You can post the logo in the concept section after voting is done.

Some things I have noticed staring at Super Bowl logos for the last week. The Roman Numerals are the main focal point. The logos are slightly generic, with simple motifs of the area/region. The logos typically don't connect to the NFL team in the city. No skylines are ever used, and they rarely have the city's names.

This round will start 2/28, and end 3/13. The final time to submit your logo is 11:59 that Sunday. I'll post the logos that Monday, and we'll have 72 hours to vote from the time I make that post. The only way to submit will be to email me at michaeldanger94@gmail.com.

So without further ado, post in this thread if you're signing up for the Super Bowl 50 round.

Super Bowl Shuffle XLIX - Arizona

This is the fifth logo we're commissioned to do. The Seahawks passed, and the Patriots stole a Super Bowl ring in Arizona.

Pikes Peak international Raceway

Happy Daytona Day, everyone! Time for part 4 of the Raysox Racetrack Restoration! It's taken a while to get the motivation to finish. PPIR is a nice little track south of Denver. It's a lot like Richmond, and probably could be a great track to have leading up to a west coast swing.

I wanted to brand it completely different. I went purple for "Purple Mountain's Majesty", and the fact that I could paint the walls purple and it'd be very different from the rest of the tracks. The track and inside course is fundamentally the same. I just wanted to redo some basics.

So the first noticable thing is the crescent shaped stands. The front stretch and backstretch make a perfect circle, with a track sized whole taken out. The seats are purple to tie into everything. The parking and entrances let fans come from all around the track. The inside of the track is very minimal due to the space, and the amount of necessary things. The angled wall dividing the inner track and infield is angled, and I thought that it would be the perfect spot for a garage. There's also a small victory lane even with the start/finish line.

With lights all around, the track could host races at night, which opens it up to hosting Camping World Trucks, other western series, and a testing ground for Furniture Row Racing. Since the views would be at a ow angle, I couldn't put screens in the inside. I put two video boards on either side of the backstretch stand. Campers and haulers could line the inside wall, especially since there'd be so much space.

Super Bowl Shuffle XLVIII - New York/New Jersey

This is the first logo we're commissioned to do. The Seahawks thumped the Broncos in the Meadowlands. This was the fourth logo in the chrome branding era. As a designer, you will get to pick between Super Bowl XLVII and Super Bowl XLVIII to create a new logo for the game.

There's no major requirements for the logo. The logo must be a 800x600 image, and on a blank color background of your choice. No personal branding can be included, just to keep it anonymous when voting. You can post the logo in the concept section after voting is done.

Creamer Boards Super Bowl Shuffle

The year is 2020. Super Bowl LIV just had been played, with the Buccaneers beating the Jaguars in the second straight year. The game went on as normal, with tons of media build up, expensive commercials of companies using hip memes of the day, and the traditional game of gridiron football. However, there was a dark tone to the game. This would be Roger Goodell’s last Super Bowl as commissioner. Goodell had become a tyrant, renaming the Lombardi Trophy after himself before Super Bowl LIII, and doing anything to make money(which he was found out later to be pocketing).

Lead by the NFL Players Association, and former players started a coup to seize power from Goodell. Goodell claimed it was a “War on Football”, which is the first and only time this term was correctly used. It was a rocky few months, but it happened in the off season. The NFLPA gained control, and started democratic elections of the commissioner. Goodell was exiled to a place that would never see a professional football game again, London.

In an attempt to wipe out the “Goodell Years”, the new NFL commissioner Marshawn Lynch had a bold idea. With the help of NFL Films, they would get rid of all traces of the chrome Super Bowl logos that had been made to be standardized and look futuristic. NFL Films agreed to doctor the film of the games to include new logos. This meant new logos of the last 10 Super Bowl would have to be made. They are looking for bold, colorful logos that reflect the year the game was in and the host city.

We at Chris Creamer’s Sports Logo Community have been given the task to design the 10 logos. Each round will consist of a branding periods of 2 weeks. After those two weeks are up, I’ll post the logos without the maker’s name. We’ll have a typical voting process of naming the top 3 logos, all earning an associated amount of points. When we total up the amount, the top 10 vote getters will be posted and points awarded based on the current F1 point system. This final point system will add up across all rounds. The final round will be Super Bowl LIV, worth double points due to the game returning to Los Angeles, and still being in the public’s consciousness. Most points after all five round wins. Contestants can only submit concepts for one game per round, just to keep an even field points wise.

Here are the rounds

Round 1
Super Bowl XLV - North Texas
Super Bowl XLVI - Indianapolis

Round 2
Super Bowl XLVII - New Orleans
Super Bowl XLVIII - New York/New Jersey

Round 3
Super Bowl XLIX - Arizona
Super Bowl 50 - San Francisco Bay Area

Round 4
Super Bowl LI - Houston
Super Bowl LII - Minneapolis
Super Bowl LIII - Atlanta

Round 5
Super Bowl LIV - Los Angeles

So sit tight, we're gonna start Sunday.
